Vista is still not stable, even with Fixed VHD. The confusing part is that Windows Server 2008 Sp2 works fine (I'm typing this from Server 2008)

I tested the Server 2008 Sp2 with fixed VHD for 2 days now and it working fine, but not Vista.

Any ideas?

that's very weird. As I mentioned last time, can you just let Vista run, without installing any drivers? Our test machines always work, so very hard for us to reproduce.

you can also play with changing vbootcore.mod loading address, for example, placing the following inside menuentry, before vboot command line

menuentry "123"
{
set vbootcore_addr=6400000 (hex, loading to 100MB location, instead of higher memoery)
vboot harddisk=...
}

inside grub.cfg, inside vista menuentry, first line after '{'

add this line:
set vbootcore_addr=6400000
