Using the latest Raspbian “wheezy” image, doing the update and upgrade, and following the directions I was able to install rPlay however there were missing dependencies. I used the apt-get -f install command to get everything together.

I do need to do more through testing however it does work!

Hi Mike,

Can you remove rPlay first?

sudo /etc/init.d/rplay stop
sudo dpkg -r rplay

reboot.

this will put your original XBMC to work.

then follow the email, and re-download, re-install. DO THIS one more time, you may have download a wrong deb file.

After install, reboot your pi, there is NO need to manual start for rplay, when you reboot the pi, it will auto start.

If you have 2 instances of rplay running, it will get into trouble.

Trying Raspbian in the meantime, again no joy at all!

I suspect the recent airparrot fix has broken it?

Have you got a link to the previous deb file please?

Thanks, Mike

Had a chance to play with this today.

On Raspbian via pi on Ethernet;

Ipad 3 - iOS 6
Airplay mirroring - all good except when I play video I get nothing (camera taken, web browser and plex) and screen rotation doesn't work
Youtube via airplay - 10 second delay before playing, no audio
Youtube via chromecast - 10 second delay before playing, no audio
Plex via airplay - audio only

HTC one running Android 4.2.2
Youtube via chromecast - 10 second delay before playing, no audio

Things to try next, all the above on Raspbmc and Rasplex

Cheers

for audio issue, did you try to insert an earphone? check if you can hear anything.

Otherwise try to change:

# Force the monitor to HDMI mode so that sound will be sent over HDMI cable
hdmi_drive=2

in config.txt, then reboot

tried headphones, no audio.

hdmi_drive=2 made no difference either.
